I’m writing this in the middle of a heatwave!

The author copies of my next novel, UNIVERSITY SECRETS, have arrived and look really good. It’s the third novel in my University trilogy. The novel will be launched at 6.00 p.m. on September 4th in Waterstones Milton Keynes with follow-up signings in Waterstones York at 1.00 p.m. on September 6th and a Q&A plus talk and signing in Waterstones Alton at 7.00 p.m. on September 13th.

Recent highlights include the Penguin 90th Anniversary event in the Design Centre in London where the organisation was superb and the venue perfect. It was good to meet up with other authors and the first I met on arrival was Michael Cordy, the thriller writer, and we discussed his latest novel, the international best seller, Manhattan Down. It was also fun to spot the various luminaries including Stephen Fry, Clare Balding and Michael Morpurgo. I also enjoyed a brief word with Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher novels. So it turned out to be a very special evening.

That apart, I visited Harewood House in Yorkshire to view the Jane Austen and JMW Turner exhibition. It was remarkable to have the opportunity to read some of Jane’s letters to his sister Cassandra, see some of her first editions and admire the Turner painting of Harewood House.

Meanwhile, I’ve had several requests for speaking engagements and these will coincide with the launch of the new novel. The list of engagements will be published on the Events page of this website.
